You can use either photo ID or paper documents to verify your identity and become a Select customer.
The fastest way to become a Select customer is by using photo ID, below is a list of the types of photo ID that we can accept:
- Current valid UK or foreign passport
- Current UK Residence Permit (Biometric)
- Current EU Member State ID Card or national identity card
- Current Full EU photo-card drivers’ licence
- Current Full or Provisional UK photo-card driving licence
- UKBA Application Registration Card
- Current Signed Firearms Certificate
- Northern Ireland Electoral Identity card
If you do not have access to photo ID, or if the photo ID you hold is not valid or has expired you can supply identification documents you may provide TWO documents from the below list:
- Birth Certificate
- Council Tax bill for the current tax year
- HMRC Entitlement to state/ local authority benefit (must be from the last 12 months)
- HMRC document i.e. entitlement to tax credit (must be from the last 12 months)
- State/local authority benefits (must be from the last 12 months)
- Official letter from, DWP, Pension Service, Job Centre Plus, or local authority confirming right to benefits
- HMRC coding/ assessment/ statement/ tax credit notification (not a P45/ P60) (must be from the last 12 months)
- Home office immigration status document/ application registration card
- Council Tenancy/ housing association agreement or letter from local authority concerning tenancy agreement (from the last 3 months)
- Northern Ireland voter’s card
- Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC)
- Current Full UK paper driving licence
If you only have one of the documents from the above list, we can accept a second document from the list below:
- Utility bill (must be from the last 3 months, and we cannot accept a mobile phone bill)
- Bank, Building Society, or Credit Union statement (must be dated within the last 3 months)
- Recent mortgage statement (must be from the last 12 months)
